Does any one have an opinion on lift bars vs regular traction bars? They would be going on a Nova with multi leaf springs.......gonna try to get the car in the low 7's..........

If you can just buy CalTracs and be done with it. If that's too pricey check on E Bay because a couple guys found a copy cat CalTrac system for about 1/2 price and both said they are decent parts. Slapper bars are not your best option IMO. Joe McCoy

Thanks.....yeah... cal tracs are an option.....see we have the south side lift bars now and they are ok but they make the back of the car jack up kinda funky when the car leaves.....I guess thats ok but we are wanting to pick up the speed of the car a little and start foot brakeing it so we need the consistancy also.....I have seen cars go crazy fast on slapper bars but I just wonder about the consistancy.......

I'm not familiar with the southside bars but I have used slapper bars in the distant past. They always warped my springs just behind the front mount plus the rubber snubbers always gave up. CalTracs have provisions to reduce spring warp and are adjustable and all steel with little if any flex. If you look at many faster IHRA or NHRA stock class cars most use them. I don't know about other types of traction aids so amybe others will reply. Seems like most stock suspension cars have to lift the body to plant the tires though. Best of luck. RM
