Congrats to Micheal Beard for laying the SMAC down Saturday Night!!!
Thats 2 in a row!!!
:toast:
I also have a special announcement for all Pageland Modified Competitors!!!
SMACdown Racing will be offering a $100 dollar cash bounty for any racer to eliminate Micheal and his Bada$$ Volare from competition during the 3rd round or later, at any PJD SSS series event for the remainder of the regular season! The winning racer must forfeit his/her run ticket to Big Al at the Kershaw Heating and Cooling pit to claim their prize.
Anyone wishing to add to the pot is more than welcome to do so! I will furnish everyone involved with increasing the cash prize, a copy of the run ticket. Heck...we might even make some T-shirts with it (them) printed on there.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!

Thank you, I appreciate it -- both the props and the bounty.

Back in 1994, Bob Klock was winning everything in sight at Beaver Springs Dragway, and the track put a bounty on his head. If you wanted in on the bounty, you paid $2 before first round, and they put an X on your back window. The rule was you had to beat him "clean and green" - meaning no redlights and no breakouts. If you beat him, you got the bounty. If it went to the last race and nobody did it, Klocky would get the money himself.

Labor Day weekend, I beat him clean and green... and hadn't paid my $2 that day. I tried to play it off, "Let it ride..." while really thinking that I screwed up. Two weeks later, last points race of the year, it was me and Klocky in the finals. Last shot.... got him! $332 in the pot. At the banquet, he said to me, "The whole time they ran the bounty, there were only two guys that beat me clean and green, and that was you and YOU!"

I always thought that you had really "made it" when they put a bounty on you. So, thank you, it's an honor! And thank you for putting on this program for the racers.

I think my next race at Pageland will be July 25. Got a $5K S/SS race in Pennsylvania on July 11-12, and the World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol July 17-19. :helmet:

You're welcome Micheal.
Sorry, but, a win is a win in my book... red-light or not! I would love to have a ticket of yours with a big fat "foul" written on it...something tells me there ain't to many of those around.:biggrin2:
As far as how to qualify for MY $100...the only rules and qualifications are those mentioned in the thread starter. Every car you race, 3rd round and after, is eligible....AND you have to be in the Volare.
BTW...Nice picture this week...great legs!

No problem! It's your deal, you can set it up anyhow you like. I was just tellin' a story. I think it's great that you're doing it. Those kind of things are fun, and it adds a little something to the program.

You sure it's gotta be the Volare, though? You may not have seen it, as I tend to drive the Stocker more often, but I do have the Dust Devil, too. (orange '74 Duster) That was actually my first race car.

Red-lights are few and far between for me at Pageland... the rollout is crazy loose. I'm real good at hogging up the stripe, though!

Hold up Duckie...I'm talking about the Black Car in the picture above! The one with the Male Super Model leaning on it.
Thats the one you keep riding in on like a Bandit and robbing the bank at will with....... Isn't IT a Volare? forgive me ...I'm not well versed in Moparanese.

Rick bounty aside, you need to dust off that beautiful Camaro and show these guys how it's done... We miss seeing the Rafferty gang at Pageland.

Hello Mr. Bradley - I have beaten Ducky clean & green before but I am quite rusty now. :frown: My family and I miss racing and enjoying the fellowship with the kind folks at Pageland. I was just telling the wife that the Camaro needs a work-out and she agreed. Hope to see y'all soon.
