Wow, if you missed the action last night at Jefferson Pageland Dragway you missed one of the best races of the season. The Top 8 Doorslammers had one of the tightest fields I've seen in recent memory. Robbie Keziah paced the field with a .4702 to be #1 qualifier. Kevin Carpenter piloting the beautiful black 1957 Chevrolet was a contender early on until a horrific nitrous oxide explosion on the starting line ended his chances for another victory in 2006 Doorslammer action. The bracket racing action was just as competitive with the run down below. Don't forget this Saturday, September 23rd will be the last IHRA point's race for the season before the Bracket Finals next month at Carolina Dragway.

I made it for the show but had to leave before the semi's since I walked for 5 hrs. at the Auto Fair that morning,I was tired:sick: .I heard but didn't witness the explosion since I was at the picnic table chowing on wings and ribs:biggrin2: ,it was loud.Met a fine couple from Lancaster that was parked next to us and the racing was good. That October race that you are putting together sounds like a good one too.
