I'd just like to take a minute to let you guys and gals know about a couple features that have been added to the forum.

First off is the Timeslips Database (http://forums.jpdragway.com/timeslips.php?). The Timeslips Database is a place where you can enter info such as horsepower, 60' times, 1/8th mile times, etc. You can even upload a scan of your actual timeslip. To enter all this info, simply go to your UserCP (http://forums.jpdragway.com/usercp.php) and go to "Edit Your Timeslip Data".

Secondly, there is the JPD Garage (http://forums.jpdragway.com/vbgarage.php?do=list). This is a place where you can create a virtual garage where you can store photos, details, etc. about your vehicle. Each member has their own garage. You may upload 8 pictures and provide a description of mods that you have done. You can also comment on other peoples garage. To add or edit your garage info, it's under your UserCP (http://forums.jpdragway.com/usercp.php) just go to the link titled "Edit Your JPD Garage".

Third, I have integrated Imageshack picture hosting into "Post Reply" and "New Thread" pages. This will act as a shortcut so you can post pictures on the forum with minimum hassle. To use it, see below.

First off, the image hosting option is located under "Additional Options". It looks like this...

To insert a picture into your thread, simply click browse and find the picture located on your computer's hard drive, and then click host it! The image host's site will load in a new window. Once the new page has loaded, you will see 5 links on the page. The link that you will use for your pictures will be the direct link to the image. Simply copy that direct link to use in the next step. Once you have your direct link, you can close that window and come back to the forums and click the insert image button, which looks like this...

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/3118/screencapture624200631019pm6jj.jpg

Click the "Insert Image" button, and insert the link that was given to you from the image host's site. Hit OK. You should see your picture in the forum's text area. That's it. It sounds like a lot, but it's really not as difficult as it sounds.

That's about all for now, if you experience any problems, please let me know so I can fix it. The link to PM me is in my signature. I hope you all enjoy these new features. Hopefully we can make Jefferson-Pageland Dragway forums the best on the net.

Thanks, :D

I'm here all alone,I'm surprised that there's not that many people checking this place more often.Seems to me like a golden opportunity to have a site for like minded people that could meet from time to time at THE DRAGWAY!!!!!,those who race will do that, gearheads will bench race, watch the races, drink a cold one if so inclined:P and it is,after all,a decent family oriented setting. The way that you are setting up the site,IMHO,is to be a real nice one(it must cost a small fortune) and I think that if more people were to use it,this could be a very popular site for an extended local area.I also believe that JPD will benefit the most and that will be a good thing, you all are doing a great job!Hector

Hetic I'm with you on feeling like the Maytag repair man sometimes. Derek and I have the ability to see the traffic through the site daily. What interest me most is how many people travel through the site viewing different threads but don't care to post. We have people viewing from California to Florida to Maine and even in Europe. I myself use these type forums for specific interest and hobbies. In fact, I decided to go with vBulletin because I was familiar with LS1.com, LS1GTO.com, VWvortex.com and many others that use this platform. I've heard some people state that they felt the new forum was hard for them to navigate and acclimate too. Derek and I tried to make it very user friendly. If anyone has any tips on how to make the forum easier to use please feel free to share any ideas.

The expense to design and implement the forum is a labor of love, so to speak, for us. I hope some day it will be utilized to its fullest potential. I guess time will tell.

Stay tuned as we're always tweaking little things from time to time.

Mike

The new forum features are nice!
Thanks to Mike & Derek for all they have done to make this forum so nice.
Hopefully, all the folks that view it will begin to take just a little more effort
to make some posts for everyone else to participate in.:banghead:

Thanks Again!
