It seems as though the pace and frequency of people asking me if the "rumor" is true about me buying I-77 Speedway in Richburg (Chester), SC has prompted me to answer that question here today. It is true that I do know Ronnie and Velma Mosley, owners of I-77 Speedway, but have never spoken with them about purchasing the race track. The same could be said for knowing Doug McManus, owner of Lancaster Motor Speedway and Ronnie Buff, owner of Cherokee Speedway, in that we talk occasionally but it doesn't mean we're looking to buy and sell facilities.
We are committed to Pageland Dragway and we'll focus our attention on building a diversified program for all forms of drag racing.
On a side note, I sincerely hope that someone will purchase I-77 Speedway and keep it open. Once a motorsports facility closes it can be an uphill battle to reopen and prosper.
