I know this is a question with probably a plethera of answers, but why isnt my convertor stalling as I think it should?http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productitem_10001_10002_749012_-1_41362
This is the converter, in the catalog says you can expect around 4000 stall.**** I cant seem to get 2700 off the foot before its pushin the brakes!!!!! I know they work off torque, but Im running a 406 with over 500lbs.I know im not an experianced tuner and in a sense am a novice, but I mean come on.I know I should at least be pullin 3500.I had a car back in the day that would foot at 2900 on a 3000 convertor behind a mild/decent 350.

The converter may flash close to 4000 from a idle if you mate the gas. Try that and see what you get. RM

your truck is pretty light to wich will make it stall lower. the heavier the vehicle the higher the stall also. most converter advertised stall speeds are flash so just hold brake let it idle and mat it and let off instead of like u going to launch and see what that does.i bet it flashes to 3500 or so with ur light truck that prob bout rt. if you eant more converter just have gregg slack build yours.
