One of Pageland Dragway's competitors claims his first IHRA Pro-Am win of the 2007 season. Michael Beard, Seagrove N.C., picked up his first IHRA Iron Man of the season today at Piedmont Dragway. Michael had run his two qualifying passes Saturday at Piedmont Dragway before heading to Pageland for the Summit Super Series points race. Lady luck smiled brightly on Michael this weekend with a runner-up finish Saturday night at Pageland to reclaim the points lead before heading back to Piedmont Dragway where he picked up a hard fought win Sunday.

Congratulations Michael Beard! I bet that round robin drive from Piedmont to Pageland and back was well worth it on Sunday.
After I introduced you to my Dad, Jim, on Saturday, I told you him he had just met the IHRA Stock Winner for Piedmonts Pro-Am race on Sunday.
Way to gitrdone!

Definitely! They were doing a bracket race at Pidemont, but it was $50 to enter for $1,000/$350/$100... The same five rounds there would've gotten me a whole lot of nothing.
It's kinda neat running two tracks on the same day. Pageland's 60' clocks are accurate (1.49-1.50), and the E.T.'s show about .02 quicker than Piedmont. Piedmont's 60' clocks are short (1.47-1.48), but is a little slower on ET. Pageland's got more rollout (about .035 difference in R/T's on my car!), which would account for that. First round of Stock, got lucky to have my guy go red. Was .011 and ran 7.21 in similar air, after running 7.18's at Pageland.
BTW, after the first time shot, 60's at Pageland were 1.507, 1.501, 1.501, 1.502, 1.499, 1.508, 1.485. NICE! The spread was the same at Piedmont.
