Chad the regular weekly shows are $7 per person or $20 carload (up to 5 people) for both Friday and Saturday events. Now if we're having something *extra* like the Classic Gear Jammers, SSCA Outlaw Real Street, match race or something added to the regular program then we set the spectator price to match the event. We are trying our best to help people who may have larger families who would like to come out as a group but have a difficult time budgeting $10 per person for a regular weekly program. If a family of 4 wanted to attend under the old program it would have cost them $40 where now they can get in for a cool $20. Even now when we are having a bigger event we try and set the carload price to be family friendly. I hope this has answered your question.

I don't know of a trailer right off. My buddy that listed on here the 16-ft open trailer might still have it but other than that I don't know of one. If I hear of anything I'll keep you posted.

A lot of tracks are charging up to $15 just for a regular bracket race these days! I feel like they've given up on spectators, and are now just milking the crew members that they know are going to come with racers. I really appreciate what Pageland has done with keeping the spectator fees low, and the carload pricing keeps things affordable for families. I think it shows, too, as I've regularly seen 100+ spectators at Pageland for a regular bracket day, something that most bracket tracks can't say. That's not a huge number, but every bit helps!

It's funny that you mention the $15 spectator admission price. I had a 2 hour conference call with IHRA' Skooter Peaco (Vice President of Race Operations), Frank Kohutek (Division 2 & 4 Director) along with the Division-2 and Division-4 track operators. Skooter asked about spectator admission prices and results from an increase in admission. A handful of tracks had raised their spectator fees for 2007 without seeing a huge negative impact. I guess it stills goes back to knowing your market and what works best for your track. I thought it was interesting that according to the "IHRA" the car counts have been off some what at both National Event and Pro-Am events. I gathered from the conversation the South-East is holding up better than most other parts of the country. We need to do a better job of advertising Pageland Dragway. I'm hoping to shoot some video for a generic commercial highlighting Flat-Out-Friday and bracket racing on Saturday in the next couple of weeks.

I thought that car load price was genius myself. I use to ponder lots of ways to get folks to the track. Let the Boy and Girl Scouts in free. Same with the Boys and Girls clubs in the area. Let any HS kid with an ID from their school in free. Have a free spectator event with no entry. Sort of a reverse of the Free Race for the racers. We have to build a spectator base from the youngsters cause our present base is getting older and smaller. I also totally agree with the track operators have to know the people in their area. Don't let this go to your head Mike, but I think you guys are doing a good job. What they do in Norwalk Ohio doesn't have much in common with Pageland, SC. That's why I left Cleveland and came south.....LOL. JM

Hey Mike,
It's not just Jefferson Pageland. I have been to alot of tracks like Mooresville, Darlington, even Rockingham during the Ironman classic and there was hardley any spectators there sitting in the bleachers. The only way you will get them to come if you had someone famous there like John Force racing. Now that would be a miracle! :paperbag:

If you don't have people there racing their own cars, then you won't have spectators. Racers is what makes the track work. If you don't have racers there, then you want have nothing.
