1979 Malibu. My street/strip toy...lots of pics

Hey guys. I thought you guys might like to see my little project of a street/strip car. It is a 1979 Malibu that I bought already mostly built. I have just been doing some small changes to make the car more to my liking.

It has a mild 383 stroker small block in it with World Products Sportsman II heads. Victor Jr. intake with a BG 750 demon carb. Turbo 350 with 3800 stall and a 12 bolt rear with spool and 4.88s.

I made a gauge/switch panel to go in the hole where the A/C controls once went. Also tossed out the junk rachet shifter and got a Cheetah to go in its place. Much better.

Upgrade the stock radiator and flex fan to a aluminum Ron Davis rad and electric fan.

Also tossed the factory power brake booster/cylinder for this Willwood manual master cylinder and added my line lock at the same time.

This car is still a project but I am focusing on my 10.5 tire car right now. I have a nitrous kit for the car and a few other odds and ends.

I noticed I never put a pic of the motor so I thought I would.

I didn't know when the last time the carb had been gone through so I did that one my last day off.

Here is a pic just a couple of days ago after updating some ignition components and putting the carb back on. Runs alot better now that the throttle blades are set correctly and the floats are set right. Still need to tune it badly. It has 80s in the front and 88s in the rear. Rich I say :biggrin2:
