Here comes the trend for 2009. If we keep getting more tracks and races, we won't be able to do more than one Heads-Up Super Series full event at each track in 2009 without having too many races for Top Street and True Street. So..... we have come up with what will be the divisional series. In 2008, we will have three at Pageland to see how it goes. For this year, we will only run 6.00 and 7.00 at these three events. Hopefully this will showcase these index classes and draw more interest on the local level. It will be its own points series. If you show up, you are in points. These points will be TOTALLY SEPARATE from regular PTRA points. That way, we could have different divisional champions in 6.00 and 7.00. The dates are March 22, June 14, and October 4. These races will be run in conjunction with the Pageland bracket program (which will be very popular this year if you have seen the payouts). The payouts for both classes are as follows:

Foxfire Coatings PTRA Divisional Series
6.00 and 7.00
Winner: $500
R-up: 150
Semis: 75
car & driver: 40

PTRA rules will be enforced. This way, a newcomer or a veteran could run both or just this limited series. We want lots of new folks to try this kind of racing. If this goes well in 2008, then we will probably add 5.30 and maybe PTE in 2009. We may even try a few new things at these events. Maybe even a Powder Puff Women only Pro Tree Eliminator race (No limit on dial in. Bring out the duallys and street cars).

Points payout for 6.00 and 7.00 (more will be posted)

1. $250
2. 150
3. 100
Here is the post Tony put on the PTRA Heads-UP Super Series website. This will give anyone the opportunity to enter their E.T. Bracket class and an Index class as well on the same day with one tow bill.

Good luck to all the racers in 2008.

With the new fresh engine in the Volare, I think I may be able to play at a couple 7.0 races this year. Looking forward to doing some different stuff on my "off" weekends from the IHRA circuit.

is there any thought of having a .500 pro tree 7.00 class in the future? just a thought to maybe entice more interest with the footbrakers. also, the main reason i ask about this class is the ihra/nhra 7.00 index classes are on a .500 pro tree. what the thoughts of the powers at be?

I wouldnt let foot braking stop you. Have you ever watched jerry cline in his camaro or nova? I do agree tbrake helps but its not a fix all and it can be done with a foot brake i did it for the first two years of orsca. .500 will help but the ones that are good on a .400 will be good on a .500
