Is there some way to show one racers time and not the others. I personally don't like to line up with a no time vehicle  . I want my time shown and its too bad if I can keep up with alot of V8 cars:nailbite: . I think everyone in the stands would enjoy seeing how close some of the races are.

Johnnie the way the computer operates is you either show both times or neither time but we can't display only one lane at a time. "No Time" runs are always a part of drag racing. In a perfect world there wouldn't be any "NT" runs but that's just the way it is. I agree that it does take away from the "show" aspect of the night. Spectators sitting in the stands want to see a number on the board whether it's a 7.?? or 5.?? pass.
Maybe you and Kevin can hook up and we'll have for fun a best 2 out of 3 sport compact vs. domestic grudge match on a Friday night.

ProTree? Lastnight I came down to the track and made 2 regular tree passes and 2 ProTree passes. I understand the regular tree no time run BS  but ProTree single passes. What do I have to do:banghead: . Its hard enough to get passes at Pageland but I would like to show my times period. The crowd seems to be intrested in my car when I make a pass. I am tring to be different give them what they want....SOME TIMES TO BE SHOWN. I like Pageland and want to continue racing my car there so lets try to make this happen. I drive a quick SOHC Turbo 4 cyl and I want people to know it. Thanks

Johnnie I feel your pain. I too, as a spectator, hate to see 3/4 of the vehicles on Friday with N/T on the window(s). Jeff and Tim discussed this last night and Jeff called me this morning to discuss this very topic. We talked about implementing an additional fee for a N/T tech card on Friday's. Our Friday program has grown tremendously this season both in participants and spectators. We certainly want both groups to see the value in being a part of Pageland Dragway and the programs we offer. I have no problem with a true grudge racer wanting to run N/T as that's part of the allure to this type of racing but would like to see ordinary cars have their times shown.
One option we talked about was dedicating one lane to the "No Time" cars like we do the bikes and run them off every 20 minutes i.e. 7:00, 7:20, 7:40 and so on to separate them by class so to speak. I'll follow up with Tim and Jeff to discuss our options on this topic.
I'll also take this opportunity to point the finger back at us for just a moment. I think sometimes we become complacent on Friday's when we have 100 test-n-tune cars and 50-70% of them are "No Time" and we don't differentiate between the cars that want their time shown and those that don't want their times shown. We just run everything down with the display turned off. Jeff and I discussed this as well and I'll meet with Doug to at least address this part of the issue. Again if I'm a spectator I would like to see something on the score boards as often as possible.
Thank you for your patience and support.

My opinion may not matter that much, as I'm only a ride along dad for one of the TCR participants, but I think JPD should set policy that ALL times will be posted. No exceptions -

Another supporter of times shown..:biggrin2: Thank you. I'm sure you too have people that come to see yall make passes at the track and they wonder why there is no time shown.

I hate the no time runs as well but I do understand that some guys want the mystery.)It is easy to say you have a 6 sec car when no one sees your ET  ) I have seen tracks successfully run these cars seperate from the others. They ran them 3-5 times a given TnT night. This meant that they would not get the opportunity for as many runs but did get the "N/T" option. If they wanted more runs then the had to jump into the "display" line and go for it.
It is kind of like getting a check on Friday and the amount is not printed!

I understand what everyone is saying but if you have a grudge car you don't want other people to see what you run.I mean, that is how they make their money. If everyone saw their time then they would never get a slower car to run them. Some tracks don't show any times on TNT nights.

Yeah but how many true Grudge cars are at the Friday night Tnt? 3-4 maybe. The rest of them are street that see some fast car with N/T on their window and they think they have to have N/T on their windshield to be cooool.
I have no problem with them not wanting their time shown but they should just be run by themselves once an hour when they are called to the lane. Most of the time the true grudge cars only make 2-3 runs a night. If it a car that shows up on saturday for bracket racing anyway most everyone at the track knows what it runs anyway.
Mike - How many grudge runs do you normally that there is turely money on the line??

Tom it varies from night to night. We've seen a large increase in grudge activity this season. I would say that there is only one "true" grudge race a night where there is any money to speak of on the line. Like most times in life most of the posturing is showmanship without any real substance.
I think the idea of giving the "No Time" participants a lane of their own might be a good start. Let everyone know that the regular test-n-tune entries will have a little more opportunity for track time. Hopefully this would encourage anyone with a 7-second or slower car to just show your time. Another option might be to say from 10:00 to 11:00 we'll turn the score boards off completely and *EVERYTHING* that goes down the track will be "No Time". We'll try a few different approached to see what works best at Pageland.

just my two cents. but if i pay my money and dont want you to see what i run then thats my right. as far as a grudge car if you want to know how fast it is thats an easy fix take a couple of hundred go talk to the man and either you'll win or lose showing times is not going to bring cars to the track stopping no time run will drive them away. if you have friends and family watching then explain the reason for the no time on the window.let everybody have their moment of glory as the drive home in their whatever kind of car with the no time on the window it makes them feel better and keeps them coming back which is the goal

I am no way saying they should not be allowed to run N/T if that is what they want. If having the N/T written on their windshield keeps them spending money at the track GREAT! Guys like BEONNEON spent their money at the track as well, they are proud of what they have accomplished with their car and want their ET shown then they should be allowed to do that as well.
I personally would like to see an ET lane on TnT night. Let the guys dial in against each other and practice the top end racing. It is the one area of bracket racing you never get to practice until it counts. Good luck getting that to go over.

trying to have different setups in different lanes is only gonna make life harder on the person pairing the cars and it can be a handful now its just TnT if you want everybody to know what you feel free to take your slip to the tower and it can be heard over speaker it just seems like alot of trouble and more time consuming to split everybody up pair these cars with these cars this with that by the time the nights done nobody knows where to go or what to do :banghead:

Well here is what I am saying. When I pull up in the staging lane and beside me is a N/T car, the person or persons who signals us to go to the waterbox needs to ask if the N/T car want to make a single pass or if its ok if their time is shown. Or vise versa. I will make the single pass if necessary. I'm even gonna start just running pro tree since there seems to be less in lane 2 at the track but I still want my time shown.

too many cars,motorcycles,4 wheelers,jr dragsters, trucks and no telling what else on any given friday nights for single passes if you want people to know how fast your car is just tell doug in the tower that you dont mind him telling it and he will that way you get what you want and the no time cars get what they want everybody can be happy

What we're going to try for the next few Friday nights is bikes in lane #1, .400 Pro Tree and "No Time" vehicles lane #2, .500 Full Tree *WITH* times shown lanes #3 & #4. This format will still give each group the opportunity to race as they choose.
Hope to see everyone for Flat-Out-Friday.
