I started to build a 72 Nova to run in IHRA Top Stock a few years ago. Been playing with it on and off for several years now. IHRA IMO ruined T/S so that class is not an option so not sure what will happen to this Nova. I replaced lots of sheet metal on the car, acid dipped the sub frame, inner fenders, radiator core support and lightened up everything I could think of in ways that keep the car legal for any Stock or Crate Motor classes. Installed a 12 point chrome moly roll cage, new headliner, door panels, dash pad and I now have a set of bucket seats which I just got factory replacement covers for so the inside is all new. It's got tinted glass and a new windshield in it. I painted it the same red my other Novas are. Got the turn signals, brake lights, 4 way flashers and headlights working. Installed Moroso front springs and adjustable shocks in front, found a 12 bolt and replaced the tubes with 1/4 wall moly and installed mopar ends, Strange 35 spline axels, ultra light M/W spool, steel bearing caps, then installed Wilwood discs front and rear. I made a set of CalTracs myself from a pattern I copied off from a real set but don't have rear shocks yet or rear wheels. Bought a set on Weld Magnum Drags with polished centers, no gold, for the front and will have the same on the rear when I figure out the right BSing for the tire I want. No motor, trans, or gear in it yet. Still needs a fuel system and ignition as well. If you want to see photos of the project and how I did the work photos and text are on my website under T/S Nova project at http://www.hotrodder.com/realmccoy/
I'm still working on it so one day when I get excited about some class you could see it around. Or it could be streetable just to get some use out of it......LOL. McCoy

Nice site with plenty of pictures. You have done a lot of work with that car, very nice.IMHO,you should post some pictures here to encourage the people reading to post theirs.I'll look you up next time I visit JPD,I've been for two of the TCI races and I can attest to them being a hit at the stands,I even bought a t-shirt!I've been working a lot of OT and weekends lately but I'll try to make the next race to see the show.

Thanks for the kind words Hectic and Rick. I am a dinosaur so posting pictures and things are difficult for me. I am blessed with a good friend who does that web site for me at a low cost.......LOL. I imagine the 72 will see some drag strips one day in the not so distant future. RM
